Welcome to Black Hills Angus: Quality Angus beef, locally raised in Vermont
We are a small farm in the hills of Glover, VT. Located 17 miles north of Hardwick, VT we are in the heart of Vermont's local food movement. The Black Hills are two peaks out our front window, elevation 2258 ft., the highest in town. We intensely manage approximately 50 acres of pasture here, and 80 acres of crop land and wood lot in West Glover where I grew up and my family has been for over 50 years. The herd consists of between 20 and 25 "mama cows", 20 to 25 yearlings and 20 to 25 calves in the summer and around 45 head through the winter. For the last ten years, we have either leased or purchased Registered Angus bulls from great herds like D&R Farm, Farm And Forest Ranch, E Butterfield and Spring Hill Angus LLC. We continue to improve the herd through genetics, concentrating on carcass traits and docility. Big rib eyes and marbling along with good growth is what we look for. |
