About Us: Owner operated family farm with deep roots in Northern Vermont

I work for the town of Glover as Road Foreman. After spending more than thirty years in the dairy business, I made a change that I very much enjoy. My love for farming and animals started when I was very young. My parents had a few crossbred cattle, and it was the kids' daily job to chop the ice out of the water tub and feed them the bales of hay. I would earn $2 a day working for a neighbor helping with morning and evening barn chores. Both of my grandparents had dairy farms and it was at one of these farms that I started my working career. All along the way I've maintained a few beef cattle, Herefords for a time, a few Belted Galloways and finally Angus. I like the great mothering traits of the Angus breed and the meat is superior.

Deb is the accountant at Sterling College in Craftsbury, VT. Sterling is a small four year college based in ecology with studies such as Conservation Ecology, Environmental Humanities, and Sustainable Agriculture. When she's not busy at the school, she loves to ride her quarter horse, work in our extensive gardens, together with her parents, to raise much of the fresh summer food we enjoy, and works to make a nice home for our family. When I need help finding a calf, moving the herd, or at fall round up, she is always there to lend a hand. Deb is also the "bean counter" here at the farm.
