At Black Hills Angus, we sell 16 to 18 month old Angus beef by the side. We deliver the live animal to a USDA certified and inspected facility for processing. We will pick up your final product and deliver it to your door for a small fee.

We sell by the side and hanging weight. A side this last year averaged about 350 lbs. Remember, that doesn't mean you end up with 350 lbs. of meat! How many boneless cuts you choose, how lean you want your burger, and other cut requests all affect the final weight of your wrapped product. You can expect to get about 60-65% of the hanging weight in packaged product. You can also request marrow and dog bones. You will receive your meat individually cut, vacuum packaged and flash frozen.

We also sell individual cuts out of our retail space so you can try just a little before committing to a whole side. Please call ahead for availability and a time to meet us.

A side of beef will be as good in 18 months as it is the day you receive it in the vacuum packaging. Some people buy a whole animal every year, some buy a half every other year. Whatever you choose, the hard thing is to make it last until the next one arrives!
